Why “the camera lucida”? It means “light chamber” in Latin, and is the instrument that preceded the camera obscura- close to what we know as the modern-day camera. Artists used the camera lucida to translate what they saw in real life to 2D form and aid their art. That’s all I’m trying to do here: capture bits of life, artfully.
